I believe my body art has become more about the abject body over time through
personal life experience. It is an exploration and realisation of the fallible nature of
the female form. The most recent works are audiovisual performances inspired by the
tragedy of loss and how the physical body fails us. They are about overcoming
adversity. I believe they emanate strength, resilience, vitality and the power to
overcome social stigma.
They also explore the nature of bodily movement by placing the female form in an
underwater environment. The work is a realisation of how water supports, restricts
and physically challenges the fallible female body.
